Don't throw away your live-cut Christmas tree, instead recycle it with help from El Paso County Parks.

Once the presents beneath the tree have been opened and the ornaments carefully packed away, El Pasoans will be able to recycle their fresh-cut Christmas trees and turn them into free mulch.

El Paso County Parks is making it easy to be eco-friendly by offering its Treecycling Program. Beginning today, December 26 through January 7, 2020, El Paso County will be accepting live-potted and live-cut trees at the Ascarate Park Maintenance Shop. The live-potted trees will be replanted and the cut trees will be turned into mulch to be used around county facilities.

Please remove all decorative items from the tree before drop-off at either of the following locations:

Central

  • Cut trees will only be accepted at this location
