After what happened Saturday night during Timothy Bradley/Jessie Vargas fight, pro boxing should consider having an age limit when it comes to referees. Bradley scored a controversial unanimous decision victory over Vargas to claim the WBO Welterweight Championship.

The controversy came at the end of the bout as Vargas had Bradley reeling from some massive punches and it seemed that he was gonna knock him out when referee Pat Russell thought he heard the final bell and he stopped the fight.  As it turns out, it was just the 10-second warning “clap” from ringside.

The fight then went to the judges were Bradley won by unanimous decision. In the post fight interview Russell explains his actions.
