Today, the announcement was made that Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully, will be adding one more year to his already remarkable 64 year career.

In honor of Vin Scully's incredible career and decision to continue it, here are a few facts and accomplishments you may not know about the guy.

  • Played baseball for Fordham University on a partial baseball scholarship
  • Served in the U.S. Navy
  • At the age of 25, he became the youngest person to broadcast the world series
  • First MLB broadcast was at Fenway, from on top of the stadiums roof instead of a booth.
  • Has called perfect games for Don Larsen, Sandy Koufax, Fernado Valenzuela, Dennis Martinez and Hideo Nomo.
