For years, UTEP has tried different things to bring more students to their basketball and football games. Their latest effort was teased on social media earlier today.

I spoke with UTEP marketing, and they confirmed that a DJ will be added to the pregame and halftime entertainment for men's basketball, beginning next Thursday. Craig was booked for both games next week and if the experiment goes well, then UTEP will incorporate the DJ for the rest of the regular season.

The move has already been welcomed by younger UTEP basketball fans on social media, who are talking about the new musical selections coming to the Don Haskins Center.

The Miners (6-8) hit the road this week for a pair of C-USA games against Southern Mississippi (7-8) and Louisiana Tech (9-6). beIN Sports will televise the UTEP/S. Miss game beginning at 6 p.m.
