UTEP running back Aaron Jones has been named to the Earl Cambell Tyler Rose Award watch list for the second straight year. Last season, Jones led the team in rushing with a total of 1,321 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. Jones even led the nation in rushing for the early part of last season.

The Earl Cambell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the nation’s college offensive player of the year who meets the awards criteria and to encourage student-athletes to succeed on and off the field while having the drive and the tenacity to persist and overcome adversity and injury in the pursuit of reaching their goals. The award honors the legacy of Texas legend Earl Campbell and recognizes his home community of Tyler, Texas.

Jones who is a Junior this year hopes to get off to the same start as he did last season when the Miners open up the season at Arkansas on Sept. 5.
