UTEP Not Pucking Around When it Comes to Hockey
The most successful UTEP sports team is not what you might think. In just their second year in existence, the Miners Club Hockey team is 23-2. In the latest rankings from December, the American Collegiate Hockey Association had UTEP as the 12th best team in the West Region for Division 2 programs. The only other school ranked in the Top 20 is Texas A&M. The Miners and Aggies split their four game home and home series.
Forwards Jeramy Rezaeepour and Lukas Znosko lead Tom Herman's team in scoring with 61 and 60 points respectively. Aleksander Lazarski has played in net for all 25 games and has a save percentage of .897. The Miners travel to Arizona for a four game series against Northern Arizona University and Grand Canyon University.
