The UTEP Athletic Department released the 2022-23 men's basketball schedule. Like the women, the Miner men will play 20 conference games and another 11 non-conference contests. The much anticipated matchup with Texas at the newly opened Moody Center on November 7th and a trip to Chicago to battle DePaul on December 10th highlight the non-conference slate.

UTEP will also be hosting their own multi-team event (MTE) on the week of Thanksgiving. The MTE is similar to a preseason exempt tournament, since the games do not count against your allotted total of 28.

Another unique aspect to this season's schedule is the potential for the Miners to play I-10 rivals New Mexico three times, including a pair of games at the Don Haskins Center. In addition to the home and home series, the Aggies will participate in the WestStar Don Haskins Sun Bowl Tournament on December 21st and 22nd. If UTEP defeats North Carolina A&T and NMSU beats Kent State, the two longtime foes would meet for the first time ever in the tournament's championship game.
