Another guard chose to play for the Miners and head coach Rodney Terry, as Jakobe Dill verbally committed to UTEP via Twitter.

Dill is a Texas-bred prospect that played for the Houston Defenders, Beaumont Central High School and the Heritage Academy in South Carolina. He's a 6-foot-2 shooting guard that can shoot well beyond the arc, and could emerge into an off-the-bench target for the Miners.

Beyond his 3-point shooting, Dill shows that he can be a ball handler, a good facilitator of the ball and can defend guards with his speed. TexasHoops.com ranked him as the No. 38 player in the Class of 2018 Rankings.

Along with Dill, UTEP will bring in center Kaosi Ezeagu, forward Efe Odigie, guard Nigel Hawkins and guard Deon Stroud for the 2018-19 season. Transfers Souley Boum and Anthony Tarke will be eligible for the Miners in the 2019-20 season, per NCAA transfer rules.
