Every week, the UTEP Miners men's basketball team continues to impress. Last night, they began the second half with a 16-1 run and cruised to a 66-43 win over Rice. The Miners also limited Rice's top 2 scorers to just 6 combined points. It is becoming increasingly obvious that UTEP head coach Tim Floyd has been able to get his team to completely buy into his style of play. Their defensive intensity is  infectious, and offensively, the Miners are just as dangerous. No player has improved his game more than Julyan Stone, who just became C-USA's All-Time assist leader. Senior center Claude Britten is also making the most of his playing time and becoming a force for the Miners.  I'm sure UTEP will lose a few conference games this regular season, but Tim Floyd's team will be at the top of their division standings when the C-USA Tournament begins in March.
