The UTEP Athletic Department always comes up with a few funny videos to get fans ready for the upcoming athletic season. I am not sure, however, that this is one of them. The video on the UTEP Football Official Facebook page shows two guys sitting on a couch and getting ready for kickoff, when one of the fans breaks out sparklers in his living room. The message is "Joe Doesn't Go To Game -- Don't Be Joe" and buy your UTEP football season tickets. While the video had good intentions, its big miss was not to have the sparklers blow up Joe's living room. Then, Coach Kugler could enter their living room with his pick ax and say "You dumb bastards, I said picks up and not sparklers up." Most importantly, the promo disgraces all of the Joe's living in the El Paso and surrounding areas. I can't wait for the university to release it as a television commercial. On another note, if this video does go viral, maybe the school will give out 40,000 free sparklers to all fans attending the Incarnate Word home opener on September 26th. At least they would save thousands of dollars on a fireworks show if every fan lights their sparklers simultaneously.
