After winning their first six games in impressive style, the Miners have stumbled by losing two straight following a 76-62 defeat to UT Arlington.  The battle tested Mavericks came into the game with previous wins at Ohio State and Memphis, and carried their momentum over into El Paso where they breezed to an easy victory.

The Miners were still in the game at the half as they only trailed 36-31.  UTEP blinked and was down ten during the first few minutes of the second half as The Mavericks took a 42-32 cushion and never looked back.  Despite the loss, the Miners did have three players in double figures as Terry Winn tallied 14 points with eight boards, Earvin Morris added 13, and Lee Moore contributed with 12 points.

UTEP shot 42.9 percent, went 9 of 17 from the free throw line and was outrebounded 41-34.  With the consecutive loss, the Miners moved to 6-2 and will attempt to regroup as they travel to Pullman, Washington to take on Washington State next Sunday.
