Thrillist Names UTEP Fans 7th Most Obnoxious in College Hoops

The website Thrillist identifies itself as the leading men's digital lifestyle brand. They recently published a list of the 16 most obnoxious fans in college basketball, and UTEP made the cut at number seven. They described Miner supporters as "the Raiders fans of college basketball" and that they are some of the nastiest fans in college basketball.

Maryland checked in at number one on the list, followed by Butler, Duke, Oregon, and North Carolina. The Don Haskins Center has always been a tough place to play for opposing teams, yet attendance this season has been lower than usual. UTEP finished the regular season third in Conference USA, averaging 6,155 fans per game. Only Middle Tennessee (6,909) and Old Dominion (6,346) finished higher in attendance than the Miners.

UTEP finished 12th in the league and they will play UTSA Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. in the first round of the C-USA Tournament in Frisco, Texas. The game will be televised on Facebook.
