Theron Aych is returning to the UTEP football program. The 20-year coaching veteran was the wide receivers coach under Sean Kugler in 2016. He is back with the Miners and he will serve as the inside wide receivers coach for the upcoming season.

"We are really pleased to have Theron join this football program and bring the experience he has in this profession," UTEP head coach Dana Dimel said in the official release. "He has been coaching a long time and has a very high knowledge base of offensive football. I think he will bring that talent to not only our inside receiver position, but also to the whole offense."

Five years ago, UTEP caught 21 receiving scores, which at the time was the most since 2010. He spent the last four seasons as the wide receivers and tight ends coach at the University of Arizona. Aych worked under Dimel at Houston from 2000-02 when he was the running backs, tight ends, and specialist coach. He replaces Jake Waters, who left the Miners to take an assistant coaching position at Iowa State.
