The Houston Astros Are Back at Full Capacity

BACK AT FULL CAPACITY:

The Houston Astros are the latest organization to make changes to their capacity. The Astros announced that it will increase to maximum capacity for fans at Minute Maid Park for the remainder of the season starting May 25. That series just happens to be against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Perfect timing!

UPDATED POLICY:

The Astros have also made a change to their masks policy! Fully vaccinated fans at Minute Maid Park and will be required to show proof of vaccination before removing their masks while on site. Those who are not fully vaccinated will be encouraged to wear masks. Team officials said all other health and safety measures will remain in place, as reported by KPRC New 2 Houston. Considering how the Astros have been playing lately, a full crowd behind them just might be scary for a visiting team.

BY THE NUMBERS:

The Astros opened the season with a capacity of 50% capacity, roughly 20,500 fans. Moving forward Astros will allow 100% capacity, which means a sell-out would be just over 41,100 fans. This means it is time to get loud, Astros fans.  Random fact: The capacity of Minute Maid is much smaller than the Houston Astrodome, the final capacity for the Astrodome in 1999 was 67,925, ahh the good ole days of Houston Astros Baseball.

THE ASTROS ARE ROLLING

Heading into tonight's game, the Houston Astros have been rolling. They just swept the Texas Rangers and are currently riding a 6-game winning streak. Which now has them just a half-game out behind the Oakland Athletics for first place in the AL West. Oakland just happens to be the team that the Astros are playing. Get your popcorn ready!  The Astros will then travel to Arlington to take on the Rangers to close out the road trip before heading home to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in front of a FULL CAPACITY CROWD!
