The El Paso Chihuahuas lost the first extra-inning game in team history Wednesday, falling to the Tacoma Rainiers 4-3 in 10 innings. Tacoma’s Cole Gillespie hit a bases loaded single in the 10th inning off his former college teammate, Jorge Reyes, to end the game. The Chihuahuas have now alternated wins and losses in their first six games of the season.

The Chihuahuas trailed 1-0 in the sixth inning when Kyle Blanks hit a line drive home run over the left field wall, a two-run shot to give the Chihuahuas the lead. Blanks has now homered in three consecutive games. Cody Decker’s first home run of the season came one inning later, giving El Paso a 3-1 advantage.

El Paso led 3-1 until a two-out, two-run home run by Tacoma second baseman Nick Franklin tied the game in the eighth. The Chihuahuas were retired in order in the ninth and the tenth before Gillespie’s game-ending hit in the bottom of the tenth.

This is the Kyle Blanks 2-Run Home Run.
