Spooky Moon Festival Brings EDM, First of Its Kind Drone Show to El Paso
Electronic Dance Music lovers who like their festivals a bit on the spooky side should plan on being at Ascarate Park on the Saturday before Halloween.
The county park will play host to the Spooky Moon Festival that evening. The event will celebrate Halloween and EDM with a festival drone show, the likes of which have never been done in El Paso.
Spooky Moon Festival - Who's Coming?
The day-long party will feature national and international DJs, a full bar, and local food trucks and restaurants.
Gryffin, Audien, Ghastly, Snbrn, Ookay, Win and Woo, and Sevenn will be among those going hard on their laptop, as well as a “sunset performance” from Bonnie X Clyde. Several local DJs will also get time to plug in and do their thing on the wheels of steel.
First of Its Kind Drone Show
One of the highlights of the music festival will be a drone show like the kind that have become typical at larger music festivals such as Coachella and Burning Man.
Glitter enhanced décolletage won’t be the only things sparkling; the skies will be, too. Hundreds of dancing drones will illuminate the night sky during the special drone show; a first of its kind for El Paso.
According to an interview with the organizer published by the El Paso Times, a fleet of 400 multi-colored drones will transform into several shapes an El Pasoan will recognize, including the star on the mountain, and Paydirt Pete. There will be three, 20-minute El Paso-themed drone shows throughout the evening.
