If you enjoy walking, running, biking, or boarding Scenic Drive on Sunday mornings, make sure you know the updated hours for the spring and summer seasons.

As the country continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the ways El Pasoans are trying to stay healthy and socially distance is by enjoying outdoor fitness activities.

On Sunday mornings, you can find lots of people enjoying the views while exercising on Scenic Drive.

The City of El Paso celebrated the 100-year anniversary of Scenic Drive last year with an early morning celebration. Now, with the days getting longer and the weather getting warmer, the El Paso Parks and Recreation Department has updated the Scenic Drive "Scenic Sundays" exercise hours.

On Scenic Sundays, the City of El Paso closes Scenic Drive between Wheeling and Robinson Avenue to vehicles, allowing runners, walkers, cyclists, and skateboarders to use the entire roadway and enjoy the beautiful view of the Franklin Mountains.

Beginning Sunday, April 4th, Scenic Sundays will be from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Sunday on Scenic Drive.

People attending Scenic Sundays are asked to practice social distancing while exercising and wear masks when not working out.

Scenic Sundays are a great way to spend time with friends or family outdoors and get a great workout while still socially distancing. If you are attending Scenic Sunday, people usually park at Newman Park and walk up to Scenic Drive or park at Tom Lea Upper Park. Some people also park by UTEP and walk along Rim Road to Scenic Drive.
