The El Paso Chihuahuas racked up a season-high 18 hits in their 12-3 win over the Sacramento River Cats Friday night at Southwest University Park. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Chihuahuas and secured the first El Paso victory in Southwest University Park history.

Sacramento went ahead 3-0 in the first inning on a two-run home run by Nate Freiman and an RBI double by Jake Goebbert. El Paso would go on to score 12 unanswered runs, include at least one run each in the second through seventh innings. Brooks Conrad went 1-for-4 with three RBIs, while Adam Moore, Tyler Greene and Cody Decker tallied three hits each for El Paso. Eight of the nine starting players collected at least one hit for the Chihuahuas.

El Paso’s bullpen was also strong, with Chris Rearick, Blaine Boyer and Kevin Quackenbush all piecing together scoreless outings. The Chihuahuas have won three of their five games against Sacramento (Athletics affiliate) this season.

Friday’s crowd was the largest of the homestand. The Chihuahuas have sold out four of their five home games.

Tommy Medica triples home Travis Buck to tie the game at 3-3.

A Fielders Choice by Rico Noel plates Cody Decker to give the Chihuahuas a 4-3 lead.

The home run hit by Kyle Blanks in the 5th may still be going.

A two RBI single from Brooks Conrad puts the River Cats away.
