El Paso improves to 39-1-1 and can become the first team in the Western States Hockey League to top 80 points with a win in the series finale against Colorado Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. MST.

Friday night, the Rhinos became the first WSHL team to dispatch the Eagles in regulation in a Colorado road game this season with a 5-1 win. Prior to this weekend, Colorado was a stellar 16-0-1 on the road.

Saturday night, the Eagles showed why.

Colorado erased El Paso's two-goal lead late in the third period to force overtime with a bullet from Carter Dahl two steps over the blue line at 14:07 and a hard-work goal from Dawson Keay just 31 seconds later.

The Rhinos had opened the scoring just 5:24 into the opening frame with a goal from Austin Boyle.

The hosts mproved on their lead in the third period with goals from Logan Orem and Chaseton Sare, sandwiched around Tom Ignatovich's goal for the visitors.

But the Eagles came to play, and should again for the series finale Sunday afternoon.
