With the NFL season quickly approaching, odds for the NFL MVP award are out and the experts expect Patrick Mahomes to pick up right where he left off.

After celebrating his first Super Bowl win and a Super Bowl MVP award, the oddsmakers have Mahomes as the favorite to take home the NFL MVP honor in 2020.

Ceasers Sportsbook has Mahomes at 4-1 with Lamar Jackson closely behind at 13-2 and Dak Prescott rounding out the top three at 9-1.

Lamar Jackson won the 2019 NFL MVP award after a spectacular sophomore campaign.

If recent history holds true, it will be a quarterback who takes home the honor as a QB has won the award every year since 2012 when former Vikings running back Adrian Peterson took home the honor.

One of the long shots to certainly drive some interest will be the No.1 pick from the 2020 NFL Draft as Joe Burrow comes in with initial odds of 75-1.

The rookie out of LSU will have to create some similar magic to his time in Baton Rouge to see his odds improve in his rookie campaign.

The 2020 NFL season is set to being on Thursday, September 10 with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Houston Texans on NBC.

Here's a look at the rest of the odds for the NFL MVP award in 2020.
