University Medical Center of El Paso announced that it will be closing the COVID-19 vaccination center at the El Paso County Coliseum permanently on July 4th. If you still need a first and/or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, officials say you can still go to get one at the El Paso Convention Center. Vaccines at the Convention Center are administered Monday through Friday from noon to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

We are still not close to herd immunity in El Paso and that is the only way, according to health officials, that the city can safely return completely to pre-pandemic normal. Everything is open and because Texas Governor Greg Abbott has lifted the mask mandate the only time you really need to wear a mask is if an entity, either public or private, requires you to. There are still a number of places in El Paso that require a mask whenever you go into their location but there are just as many that don't require a mask on patrons to enter their location.
