New El Paso Chihuahuas 1970s Throwback Jerseys Are Spectacular
The El Paso Chihuahuas have started the 2016 season by winning 10 of their first 24 games. Despite the team's inability to string together a long winning streak, the team has still drawn great crowds at Southwest University Park. They also are about to debut the best looking jerseys that baseball fans have seen in the last three years.
The team's inspiration for the popular throwback look is based on the road uniforms that the San Diego Padres wore in 1978. The game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off this Saturday night, with proceeds benefiting Mike Dee's Big Adventure. The charity offers children with disabilities a trip of a lifetime to San Antonio. The jersey auction will begin at 6 p.m. when gates open and will end at the final out of the fifth inning. Auction winners must pay in full by the end of the game in order to receive the jersey. Winners will be escorted to the field postgame to receive their signed jersey.
