NAMI of El Paso hosts ‘Mindful Fiesta’ for Cinco de Mayo to promote Mental Health Awareness Month
Cinco De Mayo is right around the corner but most importantly, so is National Mental Health Awareness month so there’s no better time than now to have a “Mindful Fiesta.”
NAMI of El Paso and the City of El Paso are inviting the community to a FREE mental health and wellness celebration this Cinco De Mayo: Mindful Fiesta.
“We believe that taking care of your mental health is essential. That's why we're providing a fun and safe space for our community to come together and learn about wellness,” said NAMI officials.
The event is happening on Friday, May 5th at Album Park from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. and is free and open to people of all ages.
Guests who attend will be treated to free Mexican candy, live music, local resources, and a comedy show.
“Laughter is the best medicine, so don't miss a live comedy show by local comedians @juliancomedy and @josh.ryan00!” read a post shared to NAMI’s Instagram page.
Guests will also be able to participate in a LOTERIA fundraising event for the chance at winning some amazing artwork from local artist, Patrick Gabaldon.
All proceeds will benefit NAMI El Paso's efforts to provide the community with FREE mental health classes, presentations, and support groups.
Caring for our mental health is not something we do often, but it’s something that should be done more often! This event is a way to end the stigma surrounding mental health.
NAMI of El Paso hopes to bring the community together to have soe fun, celebrate Cinco De Mayo and bring awareness to mental health.
