Just because Cinco de Mayo falls on a weekday this year doesn’t mean you can’t partake in a celebratory Margarita. Or three. Hey, we Americans don’t call it Drinko de Mayo for nothing.

Whether you like yours on the rocks or in its slushier form, I find margaritas are best when paired with a plateful of our delicious Mexican food. So, using my own voodoo science consisting of a mix of Yelp and Foursquare ratings, our listener’s input, opinions of trusted tequila + triple sec connoisseurs, and my own alcoholic drink expertise, I compiled this list of where to find El Paso’s favorite margaritas.

But honestly you don’t need an Americanized Mexican “holiday” to party like it’s diecinueve noventa nueve.

Have fun celebrating Mexican Independence Day the anniversary of Mexico's victory over France in The Battle of Puebla. Just don’t get too carried away or you might have to start a new life elsewhere; depending on what shows up on social media May 6.
