There's a lot of confusion around where people are supposed to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine and when they can begin the process. There have been plenty of stories of people trying to sign-up but can't to get their vaccine and many have even tried just showing up places to get the vaccine.

Currently, vaccines are being given first to priority groups like healthcare works, first responders, and last responders but when you're able to get the vaccine, you need to be aware of the sign-up process so you can get the vaccine as soon as you can.

To sign up to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in the State of Texas, sign up with the vaccination hub located on the Texas Department of Health and Human Services website.

From there, scroll down to view the El Paso vaccine hub providers (currently there are 2 sites in the city). You will see the University Medical Center and the City of El Paso Fire Department listed. You can click on either link and put in your information to register for the vaccine. You can also use the Texas COVID-19 vaccine provider map to sign-up with a vaccine provider in your area.

People who register for the vaccine are asked to be patient since the community has a limited supply of vaccines and high priority groups are still being given first dibs. There may be long waits once you register but as the vaccines continue to be sent to the area more appointments will be made.

For more information on Texas' COVID-19 response and more vaccine information, please visit the Texas Department of Health and Human Services website.
