Wrestlemania 28 was last night in Miami and here’s the Monster’s recap

WORLD TITLE MATCH: DANIEL BRYAN VS. SHEAMUS FOR WORLD TITLE

Sheamus won the title in 18 seconds with the Brogue kick. It was the 2nd shortest title match in WWE history

RANDY ORTON VS. KANE

Kane won with a choke slam off the middle rope as Orton seemed to be setting up the superplex spot.  Match was weak as the crowd wasn’t into it.

INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: CODY RHODES VS. BIG

Big Show finally got revenge on Cody for all the embarrassing Wrestlemania moments he would point out. The Big show won the title when Rhodes hit a Disaster kick, went for a second one and Show speared Rhodes. He then hit the Knockout punch for the pin.

BETH PHOENIX & EVE TORRES VS. MARIA MENOUNOS & KELLY KELLY

Whenever there is a celebrity involved in a Wrestlemaina match especially a divas match, the celebrity always gets the pin for the win.  Enough said

UNDERTAKER VS. HHH IN HELL IN A CELL WITH SHAWN MICHAELS AS REFEREE

Without a doubt for the 2nd year in a row this was the match of the night.  This match was billed as “The End of An Era” and the WWE sure did give them justice as they gave this match 50 minutes from the entrances to the exit.

The early part of the match was all HHH. He destroyed Undertaker's back with chair shot after chair shot but he begged Shawn to stop the match but Taker begged him not to.  At one point Shawn was about to stop it but stopped.  At another point when Taker was just about done, he put Shawn in the gogoplata thinking it was HHH and Shawn was down.  HHH hit a sledge hammer shot but no ref to count.  Charles Robinson came in and Undertaker choke slammed HHH but he kicked out.  Undertaker then choke slammed Robinson.  The usual kick outs followed with Undertaker kicking out of a pedigree.  Undertaker also kicked out of a Michaels superkick and then a HHH pedigree.  HHH kicked out of the first tombstone. Match went back and forth until Undertaker won with a tombstone piledriver after a bunch of chair shots and a sledge hammer shot.

After the match the three of them left together.

End of an era indeed

TEAM JOHNNY OF MARK HENRY & THE MIZ & JACK SWAGGER & ZACK RYDER & DREW MCINTYRE & DAVID OTUNGA VS. TEAM TEDDY OF ZACK RYDER & GREAT KHALI & SANTINO MARELLA & KOFI KINGSTON & R-TRUTH & BOOKER T.

Team Johnny won when Eve Torres cost Zack the win.  Zack gave Ziggler the Rough Ryder and was about to give Miz the Broski boot.  But then Eve jumped in the ring to celebrate early.  The ref tried to get Eve out of the ring so it distracted Ryder and Miz hit the Skull crushing for the win.

Zack failed to remember the #1 rule ….Bros before Hos

WWE TITLE MATCH: C.M. PUNK VS. CHRIS JERICHO

Punk made Jericho tap out with the Anaconda vise.  Good technical match. (best of the night) Early in the match, Jericho tried to get Punk to lose his temper and get DQ'd by insulting him.  Funny stuff actually.  Jericho almost made Punk tap out several times but Punk was always able to escape.  The match went went back and forth with Punk finally making Jericho tap out.

JOHN CENA VS. THE ROCK

I was expecting the match to be better than the Rock-Hogan  match from WM 18 but it wasn’t.  To be honest the match didn’t come close to the intensity of that legendary match.

The match was old school power versus power built around each kicking out of each's moves, rock bottom, people's elbow, Attitude Adjustment, Cena escaping the sharpshooter, Rock escaping the STF.  That’s that best they could do as Cena was really slow in a lot of spots.

The Rock looked real good for not wrestling for so such a long time. The finish was Rock coming off the top rope with a crossbody, Cena rolling through, cleaning him up to his shoulders, giving him the Attitude Adjustment and Rock kicked out.  Cena then went for the people's elbow but Rock gave Cena the rock bottom and got the clean pin in the middle.  Awesome ending.

Final Thought: Overall I enjoyed Wrestlemania this year and it was worth the money and I called most of the matches right this past Saturday on Slammin' It...except for the Rock Cena match. Which was a nice surprise.

Things should be interesting on RAW tonight as Brock Lesnar is supposed to appear.
