For nearly 45 minutes of play, Miner fans and players watched helplessly as shot after shot clanked off the rim.  UTEP was having a hard time getting anything going offensively, but defended and scrapped well enough to keep things close with Tulane.

Tulane's Jay Hook hit a three pointer with 9:22 remaining to give Tulane their largest lead of the game at 39-32.  UTEP outscored the Green Wave 16-9 the rest of the way to force the extra session.

John Bohannon was close to giving the Miners' a 50-48 lead late in regulation, but he couldn't finish on this feed from Gabe McCulley.

The crowd was clamoring for a foul call on Tulane, but upon further review, it looked like good defense to me.

John Bohannon did not score a single point in regulation, but did score five of UTEP's six points in overtime.

'Bo' sealed the win for the Miners with this hard earned bucket.

The highlight of the night for many fans had to be the return of the 1992 'sweet sixteen' team that thrilled El Pasoans with a second round win over Kansas.

It's hard to believe it's been nearly twenty years since Marlon Maxey, David Van Dyke, Johnny 'Smooth' Melvin, and company were defending the 'Don.'

UTEP begins a tough stretch of games next Saturday at Memphis.
