Things have hit rock bottom for the New York Mets.  In a strange turn of events the Mets front office has decided to do something unorthodox.

Releasing an entire team and farm system is an unprecedented move, but some Mets fans are relieved.  Queens native and long time suffering Mets fan Jerry Isaacson told a reporter, ' Right behind '69 and '86 this is shaping up to be the third best season in Mets history.'

Other fans are not taking the news so lightly.  Staten Island native Billy DeNunzio was quoted as saying, 'Are you f-ing kidding me, these guys have been losers my whole life, and now they go out and do something genius like this.'

With no active roster, farm clubs, or general manager, first year manager Terry Collins will have his work cut out for him, but he is looking forward to the challenge.  Collins told the New York Daily News, 'I've managed the Astros and the Angels when they sucked, this will be a cakewalk.'

For better or worse the 2011 New York Mets will be a fun watch!
