If we've learned anything this past eighteen months of the COVID-19 pandemic we found out that having your health really is everything. The bad news is, getting healthcare is expensive and time-consuming. The good news, however, is the City of El Paso Department of Public Health and El Paso Fire Department are going to team up with Abundant Church and local health organizations to give the public a chance to get some health screenings for free.

The Health and Wellness Fair will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, at 1000 Valley Crest Dr. At the Health and Wellness Fair you will be able to get health screenings, get information from various booths, and referrals to other services. The free screenings and services you can get during the Fair are:

Blood Pressure Screening
Blood Donations
Body Mass Index Screening
Rapid testing for the detection of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI)
Pneumonia 65 years and older, Shingles 50 years and older, and Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) vaccines
Dental Exams
Glucose Testing

The El Paso Fire Department will be giving out free flu shots to people 65 years and older. People 12 years old and older will be able to get free COVID-19 vaccines both first and second dose. The Department of Public Health will also offer immunizations and dental care for people 6 months to 21 years of age. You will have to pre-register by calling the Rawlings Mobile Dental Clinic at (915) 497-5070.

Immunizations for pneumonia, shingles and tetanus vaccines for adults over the age of 18 will be offered by calling (915) 212-6517. You can get all the information by logging on to EPHealth.com.
