As the Miners head to the Gulf for a three-game road swing, we'll give you a whiff of some home-cookin'. Here's UTEP freshman Julian Washburn's no-look reverse dunk from last Wednesday's 70-56 win over East Carolina.

Mmm-mm.

Washburn could be special. Already proving to be a key player as the Miners have moved into the Conference USA season, his athleticism, shot-making ability and willingness to learn have impressed a head coach in Tim Floyd who's seen them all and coached a few of them, too.

You might also recognize his last name. Dad Chris is the former NC State standout who won a national championship under coach Jim Valvano and was the third overall pick of the 1986 NBA draft.

Julian's brother, Chris Jr., will join the UTEP program next season.
