Joey St. Pierre Gives UTEP Another Impact Low Post Prospect
It is no secret that Tim Floyd loaded up on freshman for his 2017 recruiting class. He brought in plenty of depth at the guard position, but he did not recruit nearly as many big men. That could be to the advantage of Joey St. Pierre, a 6-10 post player from Spring Grove, Illinois. One thing the Miners have lacked since Cedric Lang graduated is a banger in the blocks who can use his physical style to his advantage. St. Pierre appears to be that kind of player, and he could quickly become a UTEP fan favorite.
If you look at the UTEP roster for the 2017-18 season, St. Pierre joins Matt Willms and Kelvin Jones as the team's three post players. With Willms graduating after this next season, St. Pierre and Jones are the future big men for the Miners. Each player offers a different skill set, which Coach Floyd will utilize to UTEP's advantage.
