Dear Lord, when will it end? I'm not just talking about Ezekiel Elliott. I'm talking about the Big 3 and needing to sign all of them. But for now we're focusing on Zeke because he's the one holding out.

Zeke has been working out in Cabo with Marshall Faulk to stay in shape. Of course, it's still different than actually being on the field taking contact.

One report came out that said the Cowboys had offered Zeke a pretty big deal, but it wasn't one that would make him the highest paid running back in the league. So Zeke declined.

Is Zeke worth a contract that large? Well, he's one of just 4 players with 1,900+ yards from scrimmage in 2 of his first 3 seasons. The other 3 players?

  • Edgerrin James
  • LaDainian Tomlinson
  • Eric Dickerson

So yeah, it seems Zeke is worth a big contract, if you're looking at those numbers. And now it seems Jerry Jones is going against his "Zeke who?" comment and trying to butter up the running back. Does Jerry want Zeke signed? Yes, he does. But he's apparently not in much of a rush, saying:

We've got a marathon here. We want Zeke when we get to the playoffs. We want Zeke when we're in the dog days of the season.

He's got a point, but you also need Zeke early on to win the games that will get you to the playoffs.
