Stars & Stripes, and Fireworks Delights: Where to Celebrate the 4th in El Paso
Watching fireworks light up the night sky is a Fourth of July tradition, and El Paso won’t be for a lack of places one can watch bombs bursting in air Tuesday night.
But it isn’t the only way to observe our country's independence. Here is where you can celebrate freedom around El Paso Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
Patriotic Parades
If you’re looking to commemorate the Fourth with a good old-fashioned parade of beauty queens, decorated cars, and people decked out in patriotic gear some local service organizations have you covered all across the Borderland.
Grab a lawn chair and pop a squat along the following streets. And don’t forget your American flag.
Rotary Club of West El Paso Independence Day Parade
The patriotic procession will roll out from the Western Hills Methodist Church parking lot at 530 Thunderbird, turning left at Shadow Mountain before turning right onto Mesa to its conclusion near Coronado High School. The parade begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4.
46th Annual Lions Fourth of July Parade
The yearly July 4 Eastside community parade travels down Montwood and Yarbrough from its starting point of Hanks High School, then north to Album Avenue, where it ends at Eastwood (Album) Park. Sponsored by the El Paso del Norte Lions Club, "The People's Parade" begins at 9 a.m.
Fireworks Displays
Ascarate Park
El Paso County is celebrating the holiday with food trucks, swimming, and an aerial display over Ascarate Lake. [More Info]
Western Playland Amusement Park
The amusement park in the neighboring city of Sunland Park, New Mexico will be cranking up all the rides at 4 p.m. with their annual fireworks celebration going off towards the end of the park’s closing.
Southwest University Park
The Chihuahuas celebrate Independence Day with a home game against the Las Vegas Aviators followed by a fireworks finale choreographed to patriotic music. [More Info]
Wet ‘N Wild Water World
Wet 'N Wild Water World will light it up on the 4th after a full day of water rides and grilling. Fireworks will go boom not long after the park closes for the evening at 8 p.m. [More Info]
Pop Goes the Fort
Fort Bliss MWR will mark Independence Day on-base at Biggs Park with live performances from the 1st Armored Division Band, and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra followed by the annual Fireworks Spectacular. [More Info]

● Stars & Stripes VIP Party at Ascarate Golf Course includes dinner, parking pass, live music from Excape Band, and “a spectacular view of the” Ascarate Park fireworks show. [More Info]
● La Perla in the Plaza Hotel downtown is having a rooftop celebration with music, food, and a view of the post-baseball game fireworks. [More Info]
● Ardovino’s Desert Crossing in neighboring Sunland Park, New Mexico is hosting its annual Fourth of July Barbecue. This year, they’re combining it with a night market for an evening of live music, local vendors, a BBQ dinner, and an awesome view of the Western Playland fireworks show. [More Info]
