Las Palmas Medical Center witnessed the first miracle of 2024 as baby Penelope made her debut 16 seconds into the New Year. 

"Penelope, you've officially kicked off the new year in the most adorable way possible! Sending tons of love to the proud parents and a big shoutout to the fantastic Las Palmas Medical Center team for making this special moment even more extraordinary!"

Mom Cynthia Lopez described the moment as "shocking but happy," and Penelope, weighing 6 lbs 7 oz., is already hailed as the "star of the show" at 18.25 inches long!

 

At William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Spc. Kevin Martinez and Claymil Ramirez-Diaz welcomed baby Kenny at 12:55 a.m. on January 1. 

"Congratulations to Spc. Kevin Martinez and Claymil Ramirez-Diaz for their newborn son, Kenny, who was the first to be born at William Beaumont Army Medical Center for 2024."

As the first baby of 2024 at WBAMC, Kenny is ready to conquer the new year with the spirit of a soldier from the 6th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Division.

 

The Hospitals of Providence's Memorial Campus got an unexpected surprise when baby girl Luisa Becerra Roa arrived at 8:10 a.m. on Jan 1, a week ahead of schedule! 

"t’s a GIRL! Welcoming us in to a bright 2024, sweet and adorable baby Luisa made her surprise debut early this morning as our first baby of the year."

Weighing in at 6 pounds and measuring 19 inches, Luisa has already stolen the hearts of her surprised mom and dad. 

These little bundles of joy are the perfect way to kick off the year, bringing smiles and happiness to the borderland.
