UTEP Miners Alumni Lighting Up the NFL in 2023
Football season is HERE. Time to get our teams jerseys & snacks as we cheer on our favorite teams every week. And as a new season is here, we will see some former UTEP Miners playing in the NFL for the 2023-24 season. We have many returning faces so here are all the UTEP Miners playing this season.
Here are the UTEP Miners returning for the 2023-24 season
Starting in the AFC Conference, we have two players who appeared in the playoffs last year; one in the AFC East & one in the AFC South.
Nik Neednam, who played for 5 seasons with UTEP is a cornerback for the Miami Dolphins sporting the number 40.
And Roy Robertson-Harris, the defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's still rocking the number 95.
Moving on to the NFC Conference, we also have 2 players from UTEP playing here; one in the NFC West & one in the NFC North.
Will Hernandez is returning this year with the Arizona Cardinals as a guard wearing the number 76,
And last but certainly not least, running back Aaron Jones is still with the Green Bay Packers sporting number 33.
There WERE talks about former UTEP Miner Ronald Awatt joining the San Francisco 49ers but as of August 8th, according to the 49ers organization, he has been waived from the team.
So as it stands we currently have 4 former Miners in the NFL. Considering we have 2 in each conference, there's very much a possibility that there COULD be a Miner vs Miner matchup for the Super Bowl. But...we'll see what happens.
Play ball!
