These 2 Texas Kickers Are Shattering NFL Records
If you're a football fan, you know that Texas has broken many records in the NFL. However one record that the state of Texas is PROUDLY breaking is the record for longest field goal. And we ain't just talking about the record that was broken in the Sunday game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Brandon Aubrey kicked one of the longest field goals in NFL history on September 22, 2024
In the first quarter of the game, the Dallas Cowboys were trailing 7-0. The Cowboys fought their way into field goal range & when Brandon Aubrey took the field, he was able to kick a 65 yard field goal. Currently that is the 2nd longest field goal in NFL history. That's even longer than Brett Maher's 63 year field goal in 2019 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brandon Aubrey is a former Plano High alumni who played from 2010-2011; he played for Notre Dame in college & was drafted to join the Dallas Cowboys in 2023.
What's even more crazy is that Brandon Aubrey kicked a field goal that was EVEN LONGER earlier in the year; during the pre-season, Brandon kicked a 66 yard field goal against the Las Vegas Raiders, which would TIE the record breaking kick that Justin Tucker accomplished in 2021 against the Detroit Lions. And speaking of Justin Tucker...
The world record holder for longest field goal is Justin Tucker from Houston, Texas
The former Texas Longhorns kicker & current Baltimore Ravens kicker, Justin Tucker, IS the record holder. He kicked a 66 yard field goal in 2021 against the Detroit Lions to win the game in Week 3.
Will the record be broken? Only time will tell...
