TSA News About Rotisserie Chickens Feels Very Texas
Travel rules are already confusing enough.
Between TSA checkpoints, carry-on rules and figuring out what can and can't make it onto a plane, airport travel somehow always comes with surprises. But the internet recently discovered one TSA-approved item that feels less like travel news and more like information Texans were always meant to hear.
This one feels like Texans were always ready for!
TSA Gave Texas Travelers New Ideas
The Transportation Security Administration recently reminded travelers online that while certain liquids and oversized drinks can cause problems at checkpoints, rotisserie chickens are apparently fair game. According to TSA, passengers can bring a fully cooked chicken in their carry-on bags!
I’m pretty sure the rotisserie chicken has more protein than a 3.4 ounce protein shake!
And almost immediately, the internet had questions. Not safety questions. Not logistical questions. Just one very important question: how many rotisserie chickens is too many rotisserie chickens?
Because if there's one thing Texans have never been accused of doing, it's keeping things small.
TSA May Have Accidentally Created A New Texas Challenge
Other states will probably treat this information responsibly. Someone might pack a sandwich. Maybe a few snacks for the flight.
Texas? Texas hears, "You can bring a whole rotisserie chicken through security," and suddenly people start wondering which bag is appropriate for that.
Why This TSA Rule Feels Like Peak Texas Energy
Texans have never exactly believed in doing things halfway, especially when food is involved.

We already pack road trip snacks like we're preparing for a week-long expedition. Somebody always brings beef jerky. Someone else has a giant Buc-ee's bag. One person somehow packed enough food for six people despite the drive only lasting two hours. One bag is pure tortillas.
Airport behavior isn't all that different.
So hearing TSA says rotisserie chickens are allowed doesn't sound ridiculous. It sounds like Texans may have accidentally been training for this moment!
Texas Travelers Might Already Be Planning This
You know somebody saw TSA's post and immediately started making plans.
Not because they need to fly with a rotisserie chicken, because now they know they can. And that's a very different situation.
And if this catches on, TSA lines at Texas airports could start smelling less like stress and a lot more like chicken!
