Winterfest has officially started in Downtown El Paso, the temperature is a little cooler and caldo is now the only acceptable meal at dinner.

With the holidays arriving, and with tons of friends and families coming in to town, I know one of the biggest things I'm about to see on my social media are festive photos! And I love them! I'm so ready to see everyone's winter outfits, or their holiday lights (which we are hosting a contest for the best holiday light display- find all the details here).

I'm ready to see all of those pictures or videos, and I'm ready to starts liking them! But if you're a little stuck as to where you can take your friends and family to take those iconic photos, allow me to help! Here are 5 picture perfect places to take that winter selfie!

Scenic Drive

This one seems like the obvious, if you're not taking your out-of-town family to Scenic Drive, are you really a good host? However, you can't deny the picturesque view you get when you go, El Paso is the perfect backdrop for those photos! Scenic Drive is perfect for either day or night photos- and is especially beautiful during "golden hour".

Eastridge Lights

Everyone's favorite holiday neighborhood is perfect for photos. I know people love to see the lights from their car, but I have seen some people take a stroll through the neighborhood for photos. Just remember that these are people's homes, so be respectful! Eastridge is perfect for nighttime photos.

Tom Lea Upper Park

This is a perfect place for photos as it has another scenic view of El Paso, and most importantly, El Paso High School, which is just a beautiful building- especially in the snow! Tom Lea Upper Park is perfect for day or night photos. And if you can catch it on  a snow day- even better!

The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso

Sure, the malls are great for holiday photos; they also offer pictures with Santa. But, here in El Paso, the Outlet Shoppes offer a great outdoor holiday scene where you'll want to take plenty of photos with family. The Outlet Shoppes is perfect for daytime or nighttime photos.

Winterfest

Did you think I was going to leave out Winterfest? The biggest holiday display in El Paso? It was the more obvious answer so I decided to leave it to the end. Winterfest is the biggest holiday display which is perfect for all the pictures you'll want to take- and it's full of events for everyone in the family. Winterfest is great for daytime photos, but the magic really happens when the sun goes down. Winterfest lasts through January 1.
