10 Things You’ll Only Understand If You Grew Up in Northeast El Paso
Recently, I was driving through my old neighborhood, Mountain View in Northeast El Paso, when I was devastated to see that one of my favorite restaurants had officially closed down- Oriental Garden.
The Northeast staple had been there for as long as I can remember! I used to live down the street off of Hercules and Oriental Garden was one of my family's favorite places to eat after Church on a Sunday!
I don't know the specifics of why it ended up closing down, but I was saddened to see this buffet close down.
As someone who grew up in the Northeast, I've seen many of our favorite businesses close down. It's sad to see, but I guess that's just how it goes. Although I am happy to see that the Northeast is kind of growing; recently a new food truck park/patio bar opened up- just around the corner from the Oriental Garden- and it has been so packed each time I try to go that I cannot find parking!
I always get so happy when I see the Northeast progressing- even if it means losing some of my favorite places. If you're like me and miss some of the places we used to have in the Northeast, then follow me down memory lane and tell me if you remember any of these!
