Anyone who's seen the Miami Heat, the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves & Philadelphia 76ers is aware of Jimmy Butler from Houston, Texas. He's a 6 time All Star player in the NBA who's been playing since 2011. But what some people probably don't know is his special family connection with UTEP.

What's Jimmy Butler's connection with UTEP?

It actually extends back to a decade ago, when he was adopted by Michelle & Michael Lambert as a teenager. He became the adopted brother to future NFL wide receiver Jordan Leslie. While Jimmy followed a career in the NBA in 2011, his brother Jordan would play for the UTEP Miners in 2012 & 2013 sporting the #9.

So does that mean Jimmy Butler has been to UTEP?

Yes. While he wouldn't PLAY for UTEP, he certainly would be there for his brother during his training & for some of his games in person. In fact, if you look on Jimmy's official Twitter page, you can find some old tweets where he talks about his brother Jordan & UTEP from 2011 & 2012.

Here are some old tweets including Jimmy Butler & UTEP

And there's this tweet about Jimmy playing at UTEP during 2011 NBA Lockdown.

Don't forget Jimmy posting about his sick shoes he wore at UTEP too.

What's crazy is that this was all BEFORE Jimmy Butler became a huge superstar. Imagine if he came to visit UTEP again now that he's been in the NBA for over a decade now?

While his little brother doesn't play for UTEP anymore (Jordan's retired now), it's awesome to know that UTEP not only has a connection with Jordan but a 6 time NBA All Star winner too.
