How To Have Fun In El Paso Despite These Crazy Winds
It's spring in El Paos and, right on schedule, here come these freakish, hellacious, loathsome, pollen and dust spreading winds.
This is honestly the only time I don't like being in El Paso, the windy season. The last few days have been even worse than usual, wrecking visibility and even causing I-10 to be shut down a couple of times.
Blowing rigs over, ripping signs from their posts, sand blasting people ... the winds around here are no joke.
Fortunately, there are still plenty of ways to have fun around here without having to be out in the freaking wind. Other than walking to and from your car anyway. Oh, by the way, be REAL careful driving in this crap.
Fun Things To Do During Windy Season
Go to the movies - There are a ton of new movies out; kids will like Mufasa or Moana 2. Adults have a ton of options and rockers can hum along with A Complete Unknown or Becoming Led Zeppelin.
Oasis Lanes - It's way more than a bowling alley. They have a ton of games, great food, sports simulators and, if it's not windy, there may be a band playing outside. Fun for kids and adults with a full bar for adults to chill out while the kids go nuts.
Stay home. Make sure your Hulu and Netflix subscriptions are up to date, buy some booze, have a pizza delivered and binge watch something. My weekend plans include GrubHub, a ton of Coors Light, Resident Alien and a Sons Of Anarchy revisit.
If you do go out, you might want to dig out those old covid masks, our air quality is awful these days.
