A national news outlet has nominated El Paso Winterfest for a spot on a list of the top 10 holiday markets in the United States of America.

USA Today put together a list of the "best holiday markets" in the entire country and El Paso Winter Fest was nominated.

El Paso Winterfest takes place downtown, in and around San Jacinto Plaza, beginning November 23rd and continuing through January 25th, 2025.

For about 10 years now El Paso Winterfest has delighted zillions of visitors with lights, music, vendors, food, drinks, entertainment and much more.

USA Today says El Paso’s WinterFest is a “festive destination each holiday season — for starters, the grounds are adorned with more than 1 million twinkling lights and a 55-foot holiday tree. The festival starts with a tree-lighting ceremony, then there’s a holiday lights parade, live music, and ice-skating. The Holiday Market features a variety of vendors offering unique wares, fresh produce, tasty treats, and more.” - ktsm

What Happens At El Paso Winterfest?

It's a sensory overload with all kinds of things to see and do. It begins with the light parade, an event that has been taking place for almost 30 years now, on Saturday, November 23rd at 6pm. Get there super early for a good spot, trust me.

The celebration continues nightly through January 5th, 2025. Every night features food, drinks, tons of vendors, local artists and more. You can even strap on your blades and do a little ice skating at "The Rink".

Plus, you can watch holiday movies, enjoy holiday fiestas and snap a selfie with the big guy himself, Santa Claus. For more info, click here or visit their Facebook page.
