El Paso Businesses That Should Be Open 24 Hours

I saw some posts on social media recently from peeps begging Walmart to go back to being open 24 hours a day. That's doubtful but they're not the only business I wish would go 24/7.

Walmart used to be open 24 hours a day and, I must say, it was great. Back when I worked the evening shift, 7p - 12a, I wouldn't leave the station until 2am or so and I never minded shopping at that hour because I usually had the whole store to myself.

These days, there's another way to avoid the crowds and lines and other annoyances of shopping - a Walmart + membership will get your items delivered. You don't have to go anywhere.

Walmart + Isn't For Everybody

Some people prefer to hand pick their items or look for deals. Some can't or don't want to pay the service fee and some other weirdos actually enjoy shopping.  For those, minus the shopping "fans", the wee hours of the morning are the best and they are missed.

I go the delivery route on groceries or, at least, curbside so I've been marked "safe" from Walmart madness. There are some other businesses that I wish would go 24/7 though.

Businesses That Should Operate 24 Hours A Day

I can think of several that I wish would go all day, everyday but some are places where it just wouldn't make sense. I doubt Barnett Harley Davidson is going to stay open all night so I can grab a random T-shirt at 3am. 'Ya know?

Bars

I totally wish they'd go 24 hours. C'mon, other places do it, lighten up Texas, you'd really only be adding 5 hours to the existing hours. (7a - 2a weekdays, House Of Rock Early Bird Cafe opens promptly at 7, just so 'ya know.)

Some folks don't get off work until midnight or 1am and an hour is not long enough to unwind and play a little pool or catch a band. (Ditto for dispensaries.)

Restaurants

We have Whataburger and Jack In The Box ... that's about it after midnight and burgers don't always cut it, I can't tell you how many times I've found myself jonesing for Rib Hut at 3 or 4 n the morning. Even 8 or 9am for that matter - waiting 'til 11am is sometimes torture.

Businesses Not Open Weekends

Banks, lawyers, accountants, etc for example. If you're not going to give us weird hours folks a weekend shot, expand the week some. It's not totally a Monday - Friday, 9a - 5p world anymore.

I asked my co-workers what they would like to see go 24/7 and it was, pretty much hands down, across the board, 100% ... bars.  What about you? Let us know in the comments or "tap that app"
