Is Halloween Saved Thanks to This Texas Couple?

Jamie and Jay, also known as the Wicked Makers have been making headlines for their DIY candy slide idea. As COVID-19 Halloween approaches, this seems like one of the safest ways to allow trick-or-treating in 2020.

Or is it?

You might have seen their slide going viral on social media but that means you have also seen some negative comments about using one. The argument people are starting is the touching of candy.

While it is possible to transmit COVID-19 through touching of surfaces, the CDC has said, "Based on data from lab studies on COVID-19 and what we know about similar respiratory diseases, it may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this isn’t thought to be the main way the virus spreads."

So with that being said, if you want to wipe down wrapped candy you receive from these slides, it seems like you will be pretty safe.

Halloween will never be canceled as long as you keep it in your heart. I know that sounds cheesy, but I live by it. As someone who uses Halloween decorations as home decor, this is an everyday thing for me.
