Every now and then we have to take a break from sports to comment on other forms of entertainment. The music industry was on display last night, and we took notice.  People who make the tired argument, 'There is no good music anymore' aren't paying attention.  Every major genre has some original, kick ass acts going right now.  If you like arena rock Muse is awesome.  If heavily produced pop is your thing, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are as good as anyone has ever been.  Hell, even Justin Bieber is one of the most talented teeny boppers I've ever seen (can't say the same for Will Smith's kid but nepotism is king in the music industry).  Eminem is back with a vengeance in the rap game.  Usher has a great, modern R&B sound, and I don't know what to make of Cee-Lo Green but he's pretty awesome.  Lady Antebellum is the biggest country act since Alabama.  Last but not least the world was introduced to some great alt./indie acts like The Arcade Fire, Mumford and Sons, and The Avett Brothers.

By the way if you were wondering who the hell The Arcade Fire is you are not alone.

I'm sure there is some great metal out there too, but the Grammys would make sure you will never hear them!
