Gonzaga Takes Over #1 Spot in AP Basketball Poll

It's not yet Christmas and already there have been six (count 'em, six) teams to hold down the #1 spot in the AP College Basketball Poll.

Welcome to the group Gonzaga.

The Zags received 54 of the 65 first place votes to outdistance Ohio State.  Louisville is third followed by Duke and Kansas.  Oregon, Baylor, Auburn, Memphis and Villanova round out the top ten.

Michigan State, Duke, Louisville and Kentucky were all previously ranked #1.  Kansas was the latest #1 to fall, losing to Villanova.

The Big Ten has the most ranked teams, with six.  The ACC and Big 12 have four ranked teams, while the Pac-12 has three.
