"Mandalorian" and "Breaking Bad" star Giancarlo Esposito will be in Las Cruces this week to receive LCIFF's "Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment Award." Acclaimed actor Giancarlo Esposito is the guest of honor at this year's Las Cruces International Film Festival this week. Esposito is known for playing drug kingpin Gustavo "Gus" Fring on the critically-acclaimed show "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul" both filmed in New Mexico. Currently, he's known for his role as the villainous Moff Geideon on Disney+'s hit series "The Mandalorian."

Giancarlo Esposito has won multiple awards for his movie and television roles and now he has another honor to add to his list. Esposito will receive the Las Cruces International Film Festival's "Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment Award" this week. Here's what Ross Marks, the founder and executive director of the festival has to say about the actor receiving this award:

“Giancarlo Esposito is an iconic New Mexico actor known for his historic roles in ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul.’ His outstanding and diverse body of work has brought so much recognition to our great state. It is a thrill the Las Cruces International Film Festival can honor him in person. He is the consummate character actor whose values and work ethic reflect Las Cruces. We are beyond ecstatic to have him as the face of the 2023 film festival.”

The Las Cruces International Film Festival will be April 12th through April 16th at the Allen Theaters Cineport. Tickets are available now through their website. Esposito will be on hand to accept the award on Thursday, April 13th at 7 p.m. at the LCIFF VIP Party in Las Cruces. Tickets for the LCIFF are $150 for VIP passes, $75 for All-Access pass, $25 for a day pass, and $25 for the Giancarlo Esposito celebrity screening only.
