The city of El Paso has extended the dates free Covid-19 testing will be available to the public.

State testing sites within the city will remain operational through September 15, including on Labor Day. Additionally, a new city testing site has been added on the west side expanding testing options.

Health officials are urging El Pasoans to get tested even if not showing any symptoms. “Testing is critically important because it gives the community a better glimpse into our overall health and spread of the virus,” explained Assistant Fire Chief Jorge A. Rodriguez, Emergency Management Coordinator, in a city press release. “But more importantly, it will help further protect our vulnerable populations.”

Testing had been set to end August 31, but was extended at the request of local authorities.
