The offseason for the Cowboys has already begun and it's time to look at what they might do. If you're curious about the direction the Cowboys might go in the draft, CLICK HERE.  The obvious need for the Cowboys is on the defensive side of the ball, for both the draft and in free agency. The 2020 Dallas Cowboys defense was really bad. Really, really bad.

The first thing that does need to be tackled in free agency is Dak Prescott, however. That's the obvious answer. But who are some other guys the Cowboys could look at during free agency.

  • Denzel Perryman, LB - It's not known if the Cowboys will have Sean Lee back for the 2021 season, so the linebacker position could be a position of need. Perryman has spent his entire career with the Chargers and should be able to pair well with Leighton Vander Esch.
  • Dalvin Tomlinson, DT - For some reason both Dontari Poe and Gerald McCoy underperformed in 2020. A second round pick out of Alabama in 2017, Tomlinson would be a solid, but pricey, solution for the defensive tackle position.
  • Justin Simmons, S - The secondary needs some work for the Cowboys, especially at safety. The Cowboys are middle of the road when it comes to cap space for the 2021 off season, so they'll have some money to spend, but not a ton. Safety is a spot they should look to spend some coin on though.
  • Bradley McDougald, S - Another possible option at the safety position is McDougald. He's been in the league since 2013 and been with multiple teams. Coming off a shoulder injury, his price tag might be more reasonable.
