On Friday, members of the 1966 Texas Western championship team will virtually interact with each other and Miners fans in a special two hour Question and Answer session. The free Zoom event is happening thanks to the UTEP Black Alumni Network (UBAN), and it will be from 6pm to 8pm.

Willie Worsley, Willie Cager, Nevil Shed, David Lattin, and Tina Hill (Bobby Joe's wife) will all be part of the Zoom meeting. Registration ends today on the UBAN website. You can RSVP to take part in the Zoom and then you will be sent a special link to the meeting. In addition, Miners fans can submit any question that they would like to have answered by the five members of the '66 team.

UBAN has been established at UTEP for more than a decade, and their mission is to establish and maintain lifelong connections between the university, its alumni and friends, faculty and students and the El Paso community. They are already planning their next big event which will be homecoming week later in the year.

It has been more than 56 years since Don Haskins and his TWC squad cut down the nets after defeating Kentucky 72-65 in College Park, Maryland. Most of the surviving players from that team are now in their late 70s. The last time they were all together in El Paso was back in 2016 for the 50th anniversary of their National Title. Unlike that day, fans will be able to interact with them in this special virtual event tomorrow evening.
